Audio Visual Business Week Ending 17th September 2010

Well this week started off to a flying start with another busy weekend of sales via our online shop http://www.audio-visual-uk.co.uk/ At long last I think the online shop for Gregory Audio Visual is starting to be widely recognised! In the AV Hire business we had quite a few jobs in! This included Large screen Projection and PA setups in various Hotels and Conference Centres around the area. It was our first ever hire to the The Thistle Hotel and Conference Centre in Haydock and it seems our client was well impressed with the service as the crew all recieved a gift!!! The install consisted of a 8ft x 6ft Fastfold Screen a Sanyo XP 57 Projector, Sound link, PA, Lecturn and Radio Mics.

That same day we also had to fit a 4 speaker PA System and Large Fastfold Screen a 5000 Ansi Lumen Projector to trussing in a Marqee Awards Event in Nelson. We worked along side Neil from Bright Lites who provided the Trussing, and Lighting throughout the Marqee.

You will notice reading my blogs that I never often mention Clients Names the reason for this is simple, why give the competition information on your clients so they can porch your work!!! (You know who you are!!!)

On the service and repair side we handed over a repaired Conference Center PA System, fixed three  installs today that where giving our client a proper headache, I had to laugh as one of the repairs it took me all of 2 minutes to fix! Projectors will not show the image if it set to the incorrect single input!

Anyway thats about it for this week, onwards and upwards as they say.
Thanks for reading and please don't forget to tell your friends about my blog!

Meanwhile the studio was busy with work for RB Entertainments. We have been asked to produce the monthly "Whats On" posters for them. More details about RB Entertainments can be found at the following link (CLICK HERE) Despite the current economic situation Gregory Audio Visual continues to thrive.  The hire side of the business is picking up well after the summer period with a hire job each day this week. Next week is very busy to!

Today in the studio we have been transfering lots of old video tapes to DVD, 3 Cine Conversions are next on the desk and the production of Baby Womb Music CD's!

Audio Visual Installations continue to happen in companies around the area Graham and Brown being the latest company to build a "In House" conference facility, it seems that the days of having conferences at venues such as Hotels are becoming a thing of the past as we are ever so busy hiring equipment and sets in the works canteens, warehouses and offices! Which makes you think maybe it time to think about investing in outside catering. Anyway another week done, lets see what next week brings us!

Beware of bad Installers!

Damaged office ceiling due to poor installation
Recently Gregory Audio Visual has been contracted to a number of jobs were "so called" installers have fit equipment (some of it costing thousands), so badly that on some occasions we have had to condem the work. Recently I was called to inspect a job where the install was so bad it literlly brought the ceiling down. The idiots had suspended a heavy projector, and security cage into the plaster ceiling this in turn dragged down the false ceiling.
and if you think thats bad just look at these other examples of shoddy workmanship....
TRIP HAZZARD!!! AN ACCIDENT JUST WAITING TO HAPPEN!

Not bad for a £2,000 per day conference facility!
Creative use of Gaffa Tape!
The Cowboys have been here to!
And now a video just to make you feel sick!!!

So the moral of this blog is?

Junior School Finshed

What a week last week was! Mad rush to install a Hugh electric screen custom made to meet the clients requirements. Added to that we fitted a Sanyo PLC XP100 to a Unicol Mount. The brief was that we did not block the schools window and that the screen be hidden away. As you can see from the pictures we successfully achieved this. The screen is operated via radio remote as is the Sanyo PLC XP100 projector. Finally a 120w per side sound system was linked. All the cables were fed under the stage with gave us quite a headache! In the end the Head Teacher loved it and I guess the first assembly of the new term started with a audio visual presentation.
Large 9ft screen with a 2 meter black drop added

Screen is hidden from view
