Stolen Projector!
Hi Everyone,
Once again some thieving scum has stolen a projector from a children nursery in the Highercroft Area of Blackburn. The thieves removed the unit in broad daylight while the nursery room not being used. I wouldn't care but this is the second unit to be stolen from the centre within weeks. If you are offered a cheap Hitachi projector with no remote that look like this one below please do the right thing and either call Blackburn Police on 01254 51212 or if you wish to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post!

Light up a Life Hospice Event
For the 6th year Gregory Audio Visual have once again provided the outside PA Equipment, Generator, and Music Players for the Hospice Light Up A Life Event held on the Hospice Car Park at 4pm Sunday 19th December. It was extremely cold minus 7 according to the temp gauge. Around 200 people attended the event.
Special guest Holly Steel from the finals of the 2009 Britan's Got Talent Show sat in the front of our van with her mum to keep warm until it was time for her to sing a couple of songs. Other people in attendance were a Scotish Piper, a Choir and Keyboard Player who braved the freezing conditions.

AGM and Lighting Service
Yesterday Gregory Audio Visual was once again asked to provide the PA, Stage, and lighting for a local company Annual General Meeting. We provided several microphones including wireless mics for Q & A. The event was also recorded for the minutes of the meeting and to review the questions from the floor.
Today was service, service, service, we have a array of lighting arrive that required full servicing, lamp replacement and optical cleaning. It's a dirty job with years of dust and grime on each unit. Before we cleaned each unit we checked to see what the general condition was of the unit, then it was PAT Tested and if it passed we carried out a full service. There was over 20 units comprising of Profiles, Wash Lights, Spots etc.... I the end apart from one unit they were all serviced, and ready for refitting.

Servicing Stage LIghting
Gregory Audio Visual serviced a schools stage lighting system which hadn't been done since 1985! Using 6 meter scaffold towers we removed the dust which was horrendous and serviced the lights and Rank Stand Lighting System which had seen better days, however after two days TLC, everything was brought back in service and cost less than £1,000. The drama teacher was delighted at the result and well pleased that the work was completed on time and ready for the schools production of Grease! During the service we found a serious fault and was shocked to find a Lighting cable had been incorrectly wired with the live and earth connected to the same pin! See Below!!!!
How this passed a PAT Test God only knows! One thing is for sure questions are being asked!!!
If you would like more information on our servicing please contact us either via our website www.gregoryav.co.uk or by email sales@gregoryav.co.uk or give us a call on 01254 674444.

Christmas Nativitys
Once again Magic Moments Video the domestic video production company of Gregory Audio Visual has filmed edited and produced a series of Christmas Nativities for local schools in our area. This year was a little differant at one Infant school when we were asked to film a scene with a children and a real life donkey. Theres a old saying never work with children and animals and this proved to be the case, however I must say that the people at the "Only Foals and Horses Charity" were fantastic helping us with the donkey.

Emergency Delivery
We had a urgent request today for a LCD Projector and Laptop Hire for a conference this morning when the customers own equipment failed to work. Within 15 minutes of receiving order the equipment was with the customer!
One thing to bear in mind, do not leave your presentation projector and laptop in the boot of your car overnight during these freezing conditions and then take them into a very warm conference room switch them on and expect the equipment to work!!! - Dew (condensation) was pouring from this projector causing the lamp to fail and the laptop also to failed to boot up. At least the client had a backup of his presentation on a pen drive! :)

Childrens Day Care Centre Projector Install - Snow Fun!
Even the Arctic conditions couldn't stop us from installing a LCD Projector, 6ft Screen, Active Speakers and Breakout box to a Children's Day Care Centre. The job took 1 day to complete which included Power Connection and Network point for future use. The head of the centre said, "An Excellent Job" and appeared very delighted. For security reasons we have installed a security projector and alarm.
